Josh's Houndoom -- sketch

Description

In part I was just reminding myself of some anatomy, since I seem to have driven it all out of my head.

Josh's Houndoom, nominally Fang, was part of a back alley fight ring in Saffron, when TR was busted and Josh forced to flee along side them he ran into Fang hiding under a van, the Houndoom was near death with a number of bad wounds, Josh took the Pokémon with him.
Now named simply Houndoom, he still bears the scars of those days:
his collar scales are all but missing as are the patches on his legs, the scales which make up his horns and back ridges were prised up when he was growing for form dangerous spikes.
Josh broke his old handcuffs, originally kept for sentimental reasons, to give Houndoom fore-paw rings again.
Josh's Houndoom is highly recognisable and along with his Rapidash he is considered one of Josh's iconic Pokémon, because of his past he is considered possibly dangerous.

Dislikes Pokéballs but will put up with them so long as Josh is in control, anyone else picks up that ball and he'll break out of it, won't put up with other forms of capture.
Reluctent to flee from Police Growlithe.
Wary of strangers but puts up with them if Josh is happy.
Josh is boss.

The Houndour/Houndoom in the comic are kinda supposed to be the adverse form of the Police Growlithe/Arcanine.
They have very short fur, are narrow and skinny, they often seem agressive or jumpy even when friendly, they have long narrow fangs and their paws are almost cat like, only far more exaggerated, unlike Arcanine which use their claws as cleats, Houndoom keep their long curved claws up out of the way, almost adjacent to the ground. Their impressive claws and fangs as well as their infamous fire and fear inducing howls put them at odds with the image of Arcanine, the big, strong, bulky, fluffy and friendly looking 'good guys'.
The Houndour line is traditionally used by the Johto branch of Team Rocket.

Very lovely! Neat to see realistic versions of Pokemon.
